Carolina López Moreno is a versatile, award winning soprano known for bringing ‘drama, soft colors and empathy’ (Stuttgarter Zeitung) to every performance.
Soprano Carolina López Moreno is the First Grand Prize winner of the Berliner International Music Competition 2018, and was awarded the Special Prize at the TV production SWR Young Opera Stars 2018. She is a recipient of the DAAD Scholarship, Richard Wagner Federation Scholarship of Richard Wagner Federation and the German Talent Scholarship of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Ms. López is currently studying under Edith Bers at Manhattan School of Music in her first-year Master Degree where she made her New York City Debut and starred as the leading soprano Mariuccia in the production I Due Timidi at the Neidorff-Karpati Hall .
Other principal roles in Germany include; Street Scene (Rose Maurrant), Dialogues des Carmelites (Blanche) and Die Zauberflöte (Pamina). She has performed as a soloist in major works such as Bizet’s Te Deum and Orff’s Carmina Burana. In addition, she has given recitals in prestigious concert venues such as the Berliner Philharmonie and the Jugendstil-Festhalle Landau. Ms. López has recently released her debut album ‘Il bel sogno’ with ARS-Production Records. Future engagements in NYC include her Carnegie Hall Debut in April 2019.

Carolina López Moreno has won the First Prize at the American Vocal Arts 2019 International Collegiate Singing Championship
"The winners have been chosen from all over the world. The competition, sponsored by American Vocal Arts, emphasizes competitive collegiate singing that spans across borders. The goal of the competition is to award the best singers from around the world who are currently enrolled or have recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program in music. The winners were selected based on talent, potential, and overall presentation."
Carolina López Moreno is now studying with voice teacher Edith Bers.
Carolina López Moreno has won the "First Grand Prize" of the Berlin International Music Competition 2018 in the Voice category.
The prizewinners concert will take place on September 26th 2018 at 8 pm at the Kammermusiksaal of the Berliner Philharmonie. Carolina will be perform a 30 minute recital among the other 3 winners of the categories piano, strings and winds.
Carolina starts furiously in her first semester in New York:
In December 2018, she will be performing a principal role at the Opera Theater of the Manhattan School of Music. She considers it a great honor and challenge to take over the role of Mariuccia in the opera "I Due Timidi" by Nino Rota. The Italian composer Nino Rota (1911-1979) has made himself a big name as one of the most famous film music composers of his time and received the Oscar for the first two parts of „The Godfather“ trilogy by Francis Ford Coppola in 1975. Carolina is very happy to get an intense insight into the composers work with this production.
Carolina performed Rose Maurrant in the premiere of Street Scene at the Wilhelma Theater in Stuttgart.

Starting this fall, Carolina López Moreno will continue her Master at the Manhattan School of Music in New York.
She is very very proud and happy and excited about the challenges and possibilities, that this prestigious school will offer.
On June 3rd 2018 Kurt Weill’s Opera "Street Scene“ - a production of the Stuttgart Opera school - will take place at the Wilhelma Theater. In this production Carolina López Moreno will perform the role of Rose Maurrant

On January 20th 2018 the Emmerich Smola Sponsoring Contest took place in the Jugendstil-Festival Hall in Landau.
Since 2001 the SWR promotes and presents in the TV series “SWR Young Opera stars” the most exciting and talented musicians of the young classical music scene. In this year, it was my honour to be part of this prestigious competition.
